Travelling around
If you plan on doing some tourism before or after DebConf, we might offer you some information. This page is minimal at the moment, contact localteam members if you would like some specific information to be added.
- Wikitravel info
- Government tourism info (in Spanish only)
- Lonely Planet has always useful information, and their printed guides are very good. (No, we don't get any money for this publicity :-))
- Argentina Turismo, private tourism portal (only in Spanish).
It is also an opportunity to travel along with some fellow Debianites, be sure to plan in advance!
Buenos Aires
The city government has developed downloadable guides with great information for travellers in many languages, which you can download here.
Health information
Usually you don't need to get vaccines before coming to Argentina, except if you're travelling to the North of the country (Misiones, Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa, Salta, and Jujuy: this includes Iguazú falls), where there's risk of yellow fever. In that case, be sure to get vaccinated 10 days before going!
Tap water is usually safe in cities, be sure to ask beforehand.
